Hi. I can get letters and very thin envelopes with something in it at my Vohipeno address. But for packages with anything larger, please mail to the Fianarantsoa address.

Hi. I'm Roxy (RPCV Farafangana Education 2004-2006) Akory Aby! Welcome to Vohipeno!
It was REALLY exciting for me to read your blog...the things you wrote, the way you said them, all reminded me of myself. It is a tough road--and our area IS VERY DIFFICULT--and you know, the people are much different then everyone else! This just makes it all the more special. Just remember...no one will ever really understand how different that area truly is!
I remember, being in your place, and dreaming of the states--dreaming of my current situation...wanting it so badly. Now I have it and I sit in the nation's capitol, with a great job, and all I want more than anything in the world is to go back. Days go by slow, the months fast. Make sure not to wish the time away.
I don't know a thing about you, but I'll send you something. Let me know if there is anything in particular.
Valoma! And don't give up--what you are doing is the best thing in the world that you could ever do for yourself (I believe).

our eyes are everywhere
Hello! i bet you didn't think someone in mada would anwer yout blog but it is just to show you ... always look over your shoulder! Which brings me to the getting away and drinking in Manakara idea. It is a good idea, in fact, half of all the civil servants in Vohipeno are doing the same (police chief, teachers that are not locals, etc). So don't be surprised if the whole village knows what you did in Manakara over the weekend, because they do. I have even met people from Vohipeno in Fianar!

So who am I? I am the malagast guy who is behind you in the taxi brousse, that understands what you are saying to your friend but dosen't tell you! Remember, we malagasy know more english than you think.

Veloma, mandrapiahona. Tohizo ny ezaka fa tsara ny "blog".

Namanao (your friend)

Dear namako (if that's really who you are),

I have had no expectations as to whether or not any Malagasies would read my blog. I'm happy to have anyone who's interested take a look. Clearly, if I was worried about who saw what I was writing I would not have chosen this venue to share my experiences.

By the way, your written English skills are far more advanced than any Malagasy I've met or worked with. I hope you're in a position to use those skills to their full potential.

Good luck, and enjoy the blog!
